‘A youth looking outside the box to get volunteering opportunities’

This photo is showing a youth using internet to look for volunteering activities… when you look at this photo, it is a youth looking outside the box because of no volunteering activities within the settlement. There are very few within the refugee settlement and people who are looking for those volunteering activities are very many. He didn't sit there because he failed to get a few chances, he tried to look outside the box. What can I get on the internet? Are there any opportunities around? So, he was looking, using internet to look for activities inside the camp and outside the camp.

“Only those who have the capacity to keep coming to the operations areas everyday will get the opportunities, while those who cannot move much lose out on that.”

‘Information is power’

Many youth in our community normally come to this place to find adverts about different job and volunteering opportunities by different organisations and even private sector in the notice boards.

“I had chances of volunteering [in my home country] and normally because I am known in the area, I have frequent calls for volunteering. And when I became a refugee here, I had to get introduced to the environment freshly so I had little contact with people who could call me to volunteer, like, in my community. Unless I am elected or selected by my community members to volunteer for them, I won’t get the chance”
