RYVU is a partnership of expertise across four universities: Northumbria University, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Uganda Martyrs University and Loughborough University. The PI for the project, Prof. Matt Baillie Smith, heads a team with years of experience of conducting research on volunteering, youth skills development and forced displacement. The project was established through funding awarded from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) in the 2018 Skills and Education Call, under agreement reference ES/S005439/1.
